Sliding doors

The composition of interior spaces in architecture is one of the most important and characteristic aspects of a work. The selection of interior joinery is a very important aspect. The interior joinery can be folding or sliding, the latter being the ones that allow greater spatial flexibility.

Sliding doors are in themselves a way to move a partition that can disappear or change a room completely. The possibility of hiding doors means that square meters are not consumed. Of course, it is required that it has a sufficient structure of its own to resist the movement and weight of the moving part. Hidden carpentry and the morphology of internal structure of the door guarantee air and sound tightness, which makes them ideal for homes.

Sliding doors can be made of different materials, although the most common are wood, glass or aluminum with various internal structures that can contribute to improving some of their characteristics: resistance, durability, lightness, acoustic insulation or thermal insulation. The most common material in interior carpentry and therefore in interior sliding doors is wood, which not only provides good performance in thermal and acoustic terms, but also transmits that homey, warm feeling. Glass doors are less common as movement causes a sensation of structural instability, although with the proper choice of glass, the appearance of brittleness is significantly diminished.

Sliding doors are a constructive element that allows a space to be given richness and flexibility. In addition, they offer a much more pleasant visual effect by never being out of place or taking up unnecessary space. The constructive possibilities using this type of doors are very wide, which offers us greater freedom when creating the project and greater spatial quality.
